🔼 Showtime Down South. May Madness is officially here as the ODU baseball team is set to begins its run at the 2025 Sun Belt Championship this Wednesday when the sixth-seeded Monarchs take the field against No. 22 Troy, the third seed for the tournament.

The game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. ET start at Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Rays’ Double-A affiliate, the Montgomery Biscuits.

Every tournament game will be streamed on ESPN+, and live stats will also be available. Ted Alexander will cover the action on Fox Sports Radio 1310 AM.

🔼 Defending Home Turf. For the first time in three seasons, the ODU men’s hoops program will square off in the Battle of Norfolk.

On Tuesday, head coach Mike Jones announced a home-and-home series with Norfolk State over the next two seasons.

The Monarchs will host the Spartans at Chartway Arena on November 11, 2025, and will play across town at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall on November 11, 2026. Both games will fall on Veterans Day in support of the military in the Hampton Roads area.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. ODU rowing’s Sofia Bespalova and Lucy Brennan have been named to the All-Big 12 Women’s Rowing Team.

Bespalova, a senior out of Moscow, Russia and Brennan, a senior out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania both featured on ODU’s 1V8+ lineup that came in fifth in the final race of the BIG 12 Championship.

This is the third time Bespalova has been awarded an All-Conference award. She was selected to the AAC All-Conference team in 2023 and 2024, Brennan secured her first selection.

Ever since he arrived at ODU, Blake Morgan has been a star for the Monarchs on the diamond.

With his collegiate career winding down, Morgan reflected with Harry Minium about his time at ODU and being a leader along the way.
