🔼 Punch That Ticket! The ODU offense dialed up the bomb squad this weekend to punch their ticket to the postseason.
A barrage of 10 HRs in three games led the Monarchs to a series win at Georgia State and the eighth-seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament, starting tomorrow in Troy, Ala.
Maverick Stallings hit a HR in each game, finishing with nine RBIs in the three-game series to power the potent offensive attack.
ODU will now take on South Alabama in Tuesday’s opening round down south.

Junior Sofia Johnson is ready to roll at the NCAA Singles Championship in Stillwater, with play opening up today in the midwest.
Johnson faces Carly Briggs of Florida at 2 p.m. ET on Monday in the first round of the 64-player bracket. A win will put her against either Andjela Skrobonja, of San Diego State or Lisa Zaar of Pepperdine on Tuesday.
Johnson enters the NCAA Tournament with a 20-10 record this year and 13-5 in dual matches. She is coming off a three-set, dual match clinching win over 19th-ranked Sarah Hamner of South Carolina in the NCAA Tournament on May 4.
🔼 Eye On The Prize. It’s go time, folks.
Today, ODU’s women’s and coed sailing teams hit the water up north to compete in the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) National Championships.
The women’s semifinals are underway today and tomorrow, before the field is cutdown to the final 18 teams for the National Championship that will go from May 22-23.
The coed semifinals will take place on May 24-25 with the finals from May 26-27.
🔼 Earning Accolades. Nothing like making quite a first impression.
In just her first season at ODU, Puneet Bajwa made her presence known on the women’s golf squad, earning Second Team All-Sun Belt accolades for her efforts.
In her first season as a Monarch, Bajwa led ODU with a 73.56 stroke average after playing 27 rounds through nine events. Her freshman campaign saw her post four Top 20 finishes, to include coming in second place at the 2023 Evie Odom Invitational with a five-under par 205.

Every time we watch an ODU program, we’re rooting for the Monarchs. Whether it’s on the field, diamond, or even the water.
But sometimes, what we don’t know is that those student-athletes are battling much more than just the opposition.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA
Tomorrow night, the Monarchs take on ninth-seeded South Alabama in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament.
Earlier this year, ODU took two of three from the Jaguars, winning by scores of 8-2 and 8-3 in the opening two games.
