Late last week, game times and TV designation was delivered for five of the Monarchs’ football games this upcoming season.

ODU opens the year on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Indiana on FS1 at 2:30 p.m. and hosts North Carolina Central on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ in the home opener at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

On Saturday, Sept. 13 ODU travels to Virginia Tech for a 7 p.m. kickoff on the ACC Network. The Sun Belt also announced ODU’s Thursday night contest on Nov. 13 is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start on ESPN.

The Sun Belt Championship Game has been moved to Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

🔼 Future So Bright. There’s a lot more smiling happening at the Jones’ household these days.

Stayce Jones has been telling her husband that she hasn’t seen him as happy or as optimistic as he is now for a long time. 

“She says I’m smiling a lot more,” Coach Mike Jones said.

And for good reason. The Old Dominion men’s basketball head coach had a bountiful recruiting offseason in the transfer portal that should make the Monarchs one of the teams to beat in the Sun Belt Conference in 2025-26.

In addition to the volleyball and football programs putting together dates and times for this fall, the ODU field hockey squad followed suit unveiling their full slate for the upcoming 2025 season.

Nine home games highlight yet another loaded schedule, which includes a season-opening battle against in-state rival VCU and a visit from 2023 National Champion North Carolina as two of the opponents visiting Norfolk this fall.

“We have a challenging schedule as usual, playing a number of the best teams in the country, that’s how we measure ourselves and our goal is to compete and beat these teams,” said Griffiths. “We have a couple of great non-conference home games, with Michigan and North Carolina coming to play on our home field. We have matches against traditional in-state rivals. And, as always, our conference rivalries will provide tough competition and some great games.”
