After four years of starring on the offensive line for the Monarchs, #7️⃣1️⃣ Santana Saunders is now trying to earn his spot in the NFL.
An All-Conference performer during his time at ODU, Saunders played in 46 games over four seasons with the Monarchs, showing his versatility and playing four of the five spots on the offensive line during his career.

🔼 Helping Hands. The wins, the championships, the thrilling moments, they are all incredible experiences,
But these numbers, this is what truly makes an impact.
For the third second straight year, ODU ranking in the top-10 nationally in community engagement, ranking fourth in the country this past year.
12 different Monarchs program rank in the top-10 nationally with rowing and swimming both earning the top spot in their respective sport.
ODU's goal is to help student athletes cultivate a heart for service and create a habit of giving back to local communities. ODU Athletics strives not only to teach student athletes to serve our Hampton Roads area, but to become lifelong volunteers in every aspect of their life.
🔼 Super Seven. The ODU rowing squad made waves both in the water and in the classroom.
On Wednesday, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association released its 2025 Scholar-Athlete Awards with seven Monarchs being selected for their academic excellence.
Sydnee Blackburn, Lucy Brennan, Nicole DiBacco, Austin Douglas, Madeleine Enns, Behak Kimman, and Nicole Knight earned the distinction.
The award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate both a strong commitment to success in the classroom and out on the water. The requirements for being selected include having a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and must have rowed in at least 75% of the team’s races in the spring in an NCAA or IRA eligible boat.
