Monarchs unite! Learn more about the season opener and community day celebration.

Good Morning ODU Fam. Over the next three weeks, Old Dominion Athletics will announce the gameday activities for each of this year’s six home games. We begin with the home opener against North Carolina Central on Saturday, Sept. 6, which is set for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Monarchs will play the Eagles for the third time in program history, and they hold a 2-0 series lead over NCCU.
 
ODU’s Community Day Celebration will feature special ticket offers for community-based groups. Furthering the community unite theme, this game will help with the annual Monarchs Give Back Initiative.

🔼 Squad Goals. Old Dominion men’s basketball head coach Mike Jones announced on Tuesday his seven-member recruiting class for the 2025-26 season.

🗣 “We are so excited to add to our Monarch Basketball Family seven guys that will bring a tremendous amount of talent, experience, and versatility,” said Jones. “Three players that will be seniors, two transfers that have multiple years of eligibility, and two incoming freshmen represents an incoming group that is balanced, and one that we believe will impact winning.”

In honor of the countdown being down to double sixes, we take a look back at the Monarchs football team’s utter rout of Albany in 64th Oyster Bowl, 66-10.

Taylor Heinicke threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns as the Old Dominion University football Monarchs defeated Albany at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
