🎥 CHOPPIN’ IT UP
On this episode of Behind the Reign on Monarchs+, ODU football safety Greg Johnson shares his journey from the Dallas area to Norfolk, discusses his love for football, family, and life off the field, and gives fans a look at the personality behind the helmet.
From cutting hair and playing dominoes to his goals for the upcoming season, Johnson opens up about what drives him and what Monarch Nation can expect from him in 2026.
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Meet Our Matchups. Coming off two more championships this spring, the ODU tennis programs learned their matchups for next year’s ITA Kickoff Weekend in January of 2027.
On the women’s side, the Monarchs will take on #45 Houston on a neutral court at national runner up, Auburn. Following the match against the Cougars, ODU will face either No. 2 Auburn or No. 71 UNLV in its second match.
For the men, the Monarchs will battle #43 Miami in Charlottesville. Following the match against the Hurricanes, ODU will face either the defending national champion Cavaliers or No. 67 ETSU in its second match.
🔼 We Got Options. With football season just 10 weeks away, there’s plenty of options to secure your seats at Ballard Stadium this fall.
ODU Football flex and mini ticket plans are now on sale. The new plans give Monarch fans more ways to lock in their seats at Kornblau Field for the 2026 season.
Mini and flex plans let fans choose where they sit and which games they attend — a flexible entry point for fans who want in on the biggest matchups without committing to a full season.
🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 7️⃣1️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.

Wearing #7️⃣1️⃣ this year will be an emerging member of the ODU offensive line room in redshirt freshman Jack Sheehan.
Sheehan was a two-time All-State honoree out of North Carolina, earning a spot at the Shrine Bowl All-Star Game during his senior season at Cardinal Gibbons.
As a freshman at Cardinal Gibbons, Sheehan earned playing time for the school’s state championship that season.
🎥 NEW ADDITION
One of the many new exciting faces joining the Monarchs in 2026-27 is defensive stalwart, Jotham Nweke.
The 6-7 forward from Detroit will be a menace on the defensive end of the court for ODU.
