TGIF Monarch Nation. Old Dominion University Football placed five players on the Phil Steele Preseason All-Sun Belt team, while linebacker Jason Henderson earned fourth team preseason All-America honors.

Linebacker Mario Thompson and Henderson earned first team honors. Thompson finished third on the team in tackles with 65 a season ago and led the Monarchs with 9.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.

Henderson missed all but one game in 2024 but is a two-time All-American who led the country in tackles per game in 2022 and 2023.

Set sail with ODU Football on Saturday, Sept. 27, as the Monarchs take on Liberty for Maritime Appreciation and Hall of Fame Weekend. This game honors the rich maritime heritage of Hampton Roads with special ticket pricing and group packages available for all members of the maritime community, including shipbuilders, port workers, and naval personnel. Throughout the evening, ODU will also celebrate its newest Athletics Hall of Fame inductees.

🔼 Magic Eight Ball Says… Old Dominion women’s soccer head coach Angie Hind announced her eight-member recruiting class for the 2025 season on Friday.

“I am so thrilled to have this group of gifted and ambitious young women join our program. I think the class brings a great blend of talent and winning mentality which will add to the quality and depth of the team – something we will need to compete given the strong strength of schedule we have this year,” said Hind.
