🔼 Aced It. What can’t Sofia Johnson do?

On Tuesday, Johnson was named to the third team CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-America squad.

A native of London, England, Johnson went 26-6 this season and finished the year ranked No. 22 in the country. The two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, she also earned first team All-Sun Belt Conference in singles and doubles.

In the classroom, she posted a 3.70 GPA while majoring in business analytics.

🔼 On A Heater. Don’t look now, but former ODU standout Ryan Yarbrough is showing baseball’s biggest franchise just what he can do.

After a strong start to the season, Yarbrough was elevated into the Yankees rotation and has been red hot for one of the league’s best teams.

The southpaw has now won three of his past four starts, allowing just five earned runs in 22 innings of work over that span.

For the season, Yarbrough is a perfect 3-0 with a 2.83 ERA, allowing just 30 hits and striking out 40 in 40.1 innings of work.

🔼 Bright Future. Last week, we talked about the bright future of the ODU men’s basketball program.

This week, it’s the men’s soccer squad being recognized as the Monarchs were ranked #25 on the latest recruiting rankings by TopDrawerSoccer for their incoming class for the upcoming fall season.

He is 94 tackles away from climbing into the top three all-time in NCAA history. Which former NFL great would he pass on the all-time tackle list with 94 more tackles?

With 94 more tackles, Jason Henderson would climb to 533 career tackles, surpassing Kuchely’s total at Boston College of 532.
