🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 89 DAYS TIL KICKOFF

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.

We love seeing local products on the squad.

That’s the case for #89 Nathan Hartman, who played four seasons of football at Kellam High School right in Virginia Beach, Va.

The 6-5, 250-pound tight end joined the Monarchs in 2024 and enters this fall as a valuable depth piece to an incredibly talented position group.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Heating Up. Now in his ninth season in the big leagues, former ODU standout Ryan Yarbrough is heating up out of the Yankees’ bullpen.

In his last 12.1 innings of work, the southpaw has allowed just eight hits and three earned runs, while striking out 12.

On the year, Yarbrough has appeared in 12 games, piling up 20.2 innings while posting a 3.48 ERA.

🔼 Smarty ‘Cats. The water wasn’t the only place the ODU sailing squad did work this past year.

Late last week, a quintet of Monarchs were recognized for their work in the classroom.

Cadence Goodnight, Emil Body-Goldberg, Gianna Dewey, Blake Goodwin and Kristin Johnson all earned spots on the ICSA All-Academic Team.

The ICSA All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes Juniors and Seniors who have participated as a competitor or alternate in seven regattas (2024-2025) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

🏈 A LEGEND FOREVER

For the first time in nine years, Taylor Heinicke won’t be strapping on
the pads at a NFL training camp this summer.

Let’s look back at Heinicke’s legendary career that will always
be remembered by the Monarch faithful.
