Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.

One of the most experienced transfers among the newest Monarchs, #5️⃣0️⃣ Brayden Walker returns to his home state to battle for a spot upfront for the ODU offense in 2026.

The Culpeper native spent the past three seasons at Elon, including 21 starts over over in the past two years. Walker started every game at center in 2025 for the Phoenix, while also starting nine games at guard in 2024.

At Eastern View High School, Walker was unanimous All-District center for back-to-back seasons.

🔼 Talkin’ Ball. This week, fans were reminded that fall camp is less than a month away.

On Thursday, ODU head coach Ricky Rahne, along with student-athletes Devin Roche and Mario Easterly stepped behind the mics to preview what’s to come for the Monarchs this upcoming fall.

The Monarchs are coming off a 10-3 campaign in 2025 that saw ODU finish the season on a six-game winning streak, including a 24-10 win over South Florida in the StaffDNA Cure Bowl.

ODU opens camp on August 5 and opens the 2026 season at home against Norfolk State. It will be the first time since 2022 the Monarchs will open the season at home and the first time since 2019 that ODU will take on the Spartans.

🔼 Monarchs At Work. The football squad aren’t the only ones getting ready for the upcoming season as both ODU hoops squad have been hard at work this summer preparing for the 2026-27 campaigns.
