🎥 SITTING DOWN WITH ORLANDO VANDROSS
There’s a few new faces on the sideline for ODU Men’s Hoops in 2026-27.
Get to know one of those new sideline additions as Ted Alexander sits down with Orlando Vandross to talk about coming to Norfolk, summer workouts and much more.

🔼 Special Visitor. Former Old Dominion quarterback, Walter Payton Award Winner and 10-year NFL veteran, Taylor Heinicke, will be the special guest headlining ODU’s third annual Fan Fest at DICK’S House of Sport in Chesapeake, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8.
The Fan Fest begins at 11 a.m. and the first 100 fans through the door will receive a wrist band to receive an autograph. Heinicke will sign autographs from 1-2 p.m. A commemorative poster will be available for Heinicke to sign for free. Personal items will not be signed. However, items that are purchased at DICK’S House of Sport on August 8 are available to be signed.
🔼 Signed, Sealed, Delivered. ODU hurler Bailey Matela has signed with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League.
He joins former teammate Kyle Edwards, who is in his second season with the Wild Things after signing with the club last summer.

🔼 Sunday Night Spotlight. Defending World Series Champions. National TV. ODU alum on the bump.
Southpaw Ryan Yarbrough earned his first start of the 2026 season for the New York Yankees on Sunday Night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The former Monarch tossed 2.2 innings of shutout baseball to spark the Yanks to a 2-1 victory over LA.
On the year, Yarbrough has now thrown 39.2 innings of work with a 2-0 record and a 3.96 ERA.
🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 4️⃣7️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.

The 2025 ODU Football team announced its presence to Sun Belt play in a major way last October.
Using an absolutely dominant overall performance, the Monarchs scored 4️⃣7️⃣ points in the conference opener against Coastal Carolina, blowing out the Chanticleers, 4️⃣7️⃣-7.
ODU, who led 34-0 at halftime, roll to its most lopsided victory ever over an FBS opponent.
