🔼 Talkin’ Ball. Now, it’s starting to get real.
With kickoff of the 2025 season closing in, there’s no better time to talk some ODU football than now and that’s just what will be happening down in New Orleans as the Monarchs take the main stage at Sun Belt Media Days.
Joining sixth-year head coach Ricky Rahne at the event are seniors OL Zach Barlev and DL Kris Trinidad.
The event is being held at the New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District in downtown New Orleans, La., and will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN+.
For the second-straight year, the multicast will feature two separate feeds—the traditional Sun Belt Football Media Days Show, which will incorporate portions of the Main Stage and Sun Belt Studio appearances from each team alongside analysis from hosts Matt Stewart and Rocky Boiman, and the Sun Belt Football Media Days Podium Feed, which will showcase the Main Stage appearances from each team in their entirety.

🔼 Ring Them. Over the weekend, two of our own collected some fancy new hardware.
ODU alums Rick Lovatto and Charles Walls both got their Super Bowl rings from the Philadelphia Eagles in a celebration in Philly recently.
Lovatto was a long snapper for the Eagles in their only two Super Bowl victories in franchise history, while Walls is in his third season as the VP of Player Personnel for the organization.
🔼 Preseason Praise. Even with kickoff still a few weeks away, the Monarchs are bringing in some preseason praise.
This week, ODU had four players named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Team, as Zach Barlev and Jason Henderson were named to the first team and Kris Trinidad and Koa Naotala earned second team honors.
🏀 GRINDIN’ AWAY
⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 3️⃣8️⃣ DAYS
In honor of the 38 days until ODU football season….

Wearing #3️⃣8️⃣ this fall for the Monarchs will be veteran linebacker Seth Naotala, who will be in his second season in Norfolk after beginning his career at JMU.
Last fall, he played in all 12 games for ODU, picking up 26 tackles, one sack and two TFLs and that comes after being one of just two players in the country to join a team
the first day of school and play in the season opener.
Naotala will be playing side by side with his brother, Koa, on the ODU defensive unit.
