🔼 He’s Bacckkk. He’s back and on a mission.
That’s right, All-American linebacker Jason Henderson is back for one final season at ODU and he’s ready to hunt.
This week, he was named to the Bronko Nagurski Preseason Watch List by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). The Nagurski Award is given to the national defensive player of the year by the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson is 138 tackles away from the FBS career record of 577, set by Troy’s Carlton Martial from 2017-2022.

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. Monarch football isn’t the only season that is right around the corner.
The ODU field hockey program is set to return to the field next week as well and will do so with 8️⃣ new faces as head coach Andrew Griffiths announced the full eight-member recruiting class for 2025, including three in-state talents.
🔼 Ticket Punched. Former ODU men’s golfer Philip Minnehan has some travel plans to make for August.
Earlier this week, Minnehan delivered a clutch performance in a playoff hole to punch his ticket to the 2025 U.S. Amateur.
Playing in the final round of qualifying, the recent graduate from Rochester, New York found himself in a three-way tie after a lap around the par-70, 6,868-yard course at Wellesley Country Club.
With just two qualifying spots left for grabs, Minnehan made birdie on the first playoff hole to lock himself in for the 125th U.S. Amateur, which will be held August 11-17 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California.
