🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 3️⃣6️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.
He may have only played two seasons at ODU, but his impact as immediate.
Transferring to join the Monarchs after Hofstra disbanded its program, Ronnie Cameron was a different maker at defensive line for ODU. In just two years, Cameron piled up 3️⃣6️⃣ TFLs, which still ranks as the third-most in a career by any Monarch.
He earned two All-Conference accolades, was named a First Team All-American and was the 2011 CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
In addition to his on the field accomplishments, Cameron shined in the classroom as well, finishing his ODU career by earning his Master’s degree in business administration and was named the 2011 CAA Scholar Athlete of the Year.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Career Year. With two months left in the 2026 MLB season, former ODU standout Jared Young is already enjoying a career year with the New York Mets.
The 31-year-old is in his fourth year in the bigs and has racked up career-highs in games played (61), hits (42), batting average (.253), HRs (7) and RBIs (19).

DICK'S House of Sport Chesapeake is set to host ODU Athletics for the third annual Fan Fest event on Saturday, August 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located in Greenbrier Square shopping center (1501 Sentinel Dr. Chesapeake, VA 23320), DICK'S House of Sport Chesapeake is the premier shopping location for all 2026 ODU Athletic wear! This event will feature new Under Armour product, ODU branded drinkware, tailgate essentials, local licensed vendors and falls on Virginia's tax-free weekend. Also, fans can expect to dance with Big Blue, interact with coaches, and participate in games for giveaways and prizes! Other special guests will be announced at a later date.
🔼 Roll Call. Another week, another academic accolade for the ODU lacrosse program.
On Wednesday, the Monarchs had 35 student-athletes named to the American Conference All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 during the preceding academic year.
🎥 ONE LAST RUN
In this day and age of college football, it’s rare to see a student-athlete at one for school for his entire career. But Mario Easterly isn’t just another student-athlete.
With his final season at ODU on the horizon, Easterly sat down with Voice of the Monarchs, Ted Alexander, to reflect on his career and look forward to his final season in Norfolk.
