🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 5️⃣9️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.

Just a few years after the ODU offense lit up the scoreboard through the air, the Monarchs took to the ground in 2016, rolling to a program record, 2,55️⃣9️⃣ rushing yards.

Leading the way was the two-headed duo of Ray Lawry and Jeremy Cox, who combined for 1,989 yards on their own.

The Monarchs rolled to a 10-3 record and earned the program’s first-ever Bowl invite with a spot in the 2016 Bahamas Bowl.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Preseason Praise. Coming off one of the best seasons in program history, expectations are once again high as the Monarchs prepare for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

This week, seven ODU standouts were recognized by Athlon Sports with spots on the Preseason All-Sun Belt squads.

Devin Roche (RB/PR), Chris Forbes and Mario Easterly were named to the First Team, while Koa Naotala and Zion Frink earned spots on the Second Team. DeAndre Lynch was on the Third Team and the duo of Logan Cox and Roche (KR) were recognized on the Fourth Team.

🏈 The 2026 ODU Football Schedule

🔼 Back On The Bump. After missing nearly three months on the injured list, former ODU hurler Jared Koening is back on the bump for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The southpaw had not appeared in a game since April 4th with an arm injury, but returned to the mound with four appearances in the past two weeks for the NL Central leading Brew Crew.

Koening has allowed just one earned run in four innings of work since the return. On the year, he has a 1.42 ERA through seven outings.

🏈 WE’RE IN THE GAME

The excitement is building for the upcoming football season and plenty of fans will enjoy those moments on the newest edition of EASports College Football 27.

Before the game was released to the public, our Monarchs got a sneak peek of what’s to come and even had some reaction to this year’s individual rankings.
