🔼 Setting The Slate. The season may not start for a few months, but it’s time to lock in some dates. ODU Hoops is coming soon.

Late last week, the Sun Belt Conference unveiled their conference schedules for the upcoming 2025-26 season to round into form the full schedules for both Monarch hoops squads.

🔼 The K Zone. With his six strikeouts against the Nationals yesterday, ODU legend Justin Verlander joined an exclusive club of only 10 pitchers in MLB history to reach 3,500 career strikeouts.

He is the fourth fastest to ever reach 3,500 strikeouts, doing so in 3,511 innings pitched, only behind Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan and Roger Clemens. Not too shabby of company to hold.

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 1️⃣9️⃣ DAYS

In honor of the 19 days until ODU football season….

Only twice in ODU history has a receiver averaged more than 1️⃣9️⃣ yards
per catch for an entire season and it happened in the same year!

That’s right, Nick Mayers (19.50) and James Washington (19.44) both
averaged over 1️⃣9️⃣ per reception during the 2009 Monarch football season.

The highest average in the FBS history of the program came in 2023
when Kelby Williams averaged 18.61 per reception.
