The ODU women’s soccer team notched the first Monarch victory of the 2026-27 athletic calendar on Sunday evening, rolling past in-state foe, Longwood, 3-0.
The win was also the first official win in the Silver and Blue for head coach Will Roberts.
Ally Richardson, Sydney Somers and Hannah Morgan all found the back of the net for ODU.
🔼 Turning It Up. With the season less than three weeks away, the ODU Football program turned up the intensity at 2026 Training Camp.
This past weekend, the Monarchs hit the field at Ballard Stadium for the first scrimmage of the summer, strapping on the pads and getting their first full contact work of camp.
🔼 Lock ‘Em In. Nothing like kicking off the season on the home water.
That’s exactly what the ODU sailing program will be doing as the Monarchs unveiled its 2026 slate late last week.
ODU will open the slate at the Riley Cup, an in-conference open event on home water, on September 12-13.
🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 1️⃣9️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of ODU Football this fall. The Monarchs will host
Norfolk State on September 5 at 6 p.m.
One of ODU’s candidate for a breakout stars this fall may be wearing #1️⃣9️⃣, redshirt junior safety Lucas Struck.
After a stellar JUCO career at Iowa Western, Struck arrived in Norfolk last season, earning time in all 13 games, both on special teams and safety.
The Iowa native racked up 46 tackles, two fumble recoveries and forced a fumble. His fumble recovery on the opening kickoff against JMU turned into his first TD as he scampered three yards for a TD.
