🏈 GAME WEEK IS HERE!

Not that we’ve been counting or anything, but it’s been 266 days, 10 hours and 38 minutes (approximately) since we’ve seen ODU football on the field.

That is about to change as GAME WEEK is HERE!

Training camp is over and preparation is in full swing as the Monarchs get ready for a road test this Saturday at 20th-ranked Indiana.

🔼 Turtle Power Outage. It’s tough to find a more dominant performance than what was on display last night at the ODU Soccer Complex as the Lady Monarchs stifled an undefeated Maryland team en route to a 2-0 victory.

A first half goal off the right foot of Gry Boe Thrysoe was followed by an early second half goal from All-American candidate Ashlynn Kulha to lead the offensive attack.

Kulha and her defensive counterparts did the rest, limiting the Terps to just one shot in the entire game.

Maryland came into the game having not allowed a single goal all season, while averaging 3.0 goals per game.

🔼 Chart Climber. With his 12 strikeouts in his past two outings, former ODU standout Justin Verlander is climbing the all-time charts.

The veteran right-hander moved into ninth-place all-time in career strikeouts, surpassing Hall of Famer Walter Johnson. Verlander now sits at 3,515 punch outs and is just 20 away from moving into eighth-place all-time in MLB history.

After both capturing conference titles last spring, the Monarchs are set to return to the courts this fall to prepare to defend their championships next spring.
