🔼 Rampin’ It Up. We’ve eased into the fall action over the past two weeks with the soccer programs getting us going.
Now, it’s time to ramp it up.
All ✋ ODU fall squads are in action this weekend, beginning with a four pack of games today.
Coming off a record-setting 2024 season, the Monarch volleyball squad is set to host the annual Quest For The Crown weekend with ODU taking on Fairfield (today at 12:30 pm), West Virginia (tonight at 7 pm) and Towson (tomorrow at 4 pm) to kick off their 2025 slate.
The field hockey squad will also join in on the fun as they welcome in-state rivals VCU (today at 5 pm) and William & Mary (Sunday at 1 pm) to town for a jam-packed opening weekend.
Both soccer programs are also on the home pitch with the men taking on VCU (tonight at 7 pm) and the women welcoming Liberty (Sunday at 6 pm).
🔼 Tomorrow, Tomorrow. The time has come. The wait is almost over.
ODU football is BACK in action!
The Monarchs are set to kick off their 2025 season tomorrow afternoon in Bloomington against 20th-ranked Indiana. The game can be seen on FS1 and heard on ESPN Radio 94.1.
🔼 Just Getting Started. We’re only two weeks into the 2025 season and women’s soccer standout Ashlynn Kulha is already up to her old tricks.
Earlier this week, the junior added another award to her resume as she was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week.
The Holly Springs, North Carolina native marshaled the ODU back line that gave up one shot in the entire game against Power Four opponent Maryland. She scored a diving header in the victory over the Terrapins to give Old Dominion a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute thanks to an assist by Koto Davis.
🔼 The Hall Call. Three members of the ODU family received an honor that will live forever.
Earlier this week, former Monarch multi-sport star Juanita Etheridge, long-time area businessman and philanthropist G. Robert Aston, Jr., who has been a generous donor to ODU athletics; and Harry Minium Jr., senior executive writer for athletics, were all recognized as the part of the newest class for the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame.
The ODU trio will be part of a six-person class to be inducted on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Big Blue Room at Chartway Arena, Jack Ankerson, the hall of fame chairman, announced Tuesday afternoon.
