🔼 Preseason Praise. While the games haven’t quite started yet for the ODU women’s soccer program, the Monarchs are already piling up the preseason praise.

This week, ODU’s junior standout defender Ashlynn Kulha was named Sun Belt Preseason Defender of the Year and a member of the 2025 Preseason All-Sun Belt Team. In addition, she was also named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders to Watch list.

Kulha is coming off a standout sophomore season in 2024, earning Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-Sun Belt First Team honors. A native of Holly Springs, North Carolina, she helped ODU rank first in the SBC for goals allowed (8), clean sheets (5), and goals against average (.80). Kulha started all 18 games on defense and played every minute.

As a team, the Monarchs were picked to finish third in the league as voted on by the Sun Belt Conference head coaches

🔼 Welcome To The Fam. Young, energetic and experienced are three ways to describe the newest addition to the ODU football staff.

This week, head coach Ricky Rhane announced Kresean Reed as cornerbacks coach for the Monarchs for the upcoming 2025 season.

Reed comes to ODU after spending the 2024 season at Akron coaching the corners, where he helped guide the Zips to their best season in seven years.

Prior to Akron, Reed worked as the defensive backs coach at Northern Arizona in 2023 and prior to that spent the 2022 campaign across town at Norfolk State coaching the defensive backs for the Spartans. With the Spartans he coached a pair of all-conference selections in Joseph White and RJ Coles.

In honor of the 22 days until ODU football season….

The date? Sept. 2️⃣2️⃣, 2012.

It’s a game that will be talked about for generations and still sits
atop the ODU record books AND NCAA record books.

In an epic offensive shootout, Taylor Heinicke piled up 730 yards, setting a new program and NCAA Division I single-game high, along with five TDs to usher the Monarchs to a thrilling 64-61 victory at New Hampshire.
