🔼 Save The Dates. The new era now has an official start date.

This week, ODU men’s basketball coach Mike Jones announced the full 2024-25 non-conference slate for the Monarchs, which includes seven home games and a trip to the Cayman Islands.

“We are very excited about our schedule. As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of college athletics and scheduling, we are proud of the non-conference schedule that we will embark on this season,” said Jones. “Each game and each opponent provides a different set of challenges - while preparing us for our main focus, the Sun Belt gauntlet.”

🔼 Raising The Bar. Expectations are once again high for the ODU women’s soccer as the Lady Monarchs enter this fall looking to bring home a fourth straight conference championship.

Leading the way this fall is a pair of standouts as Emily Bredek and Ashlynn Kulha will not only anchor the ODU defense, but were also named to the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Preseason All-Conference team.

In addition to the pair being honored, the Monarchs were picked as preseason favorites to repeat again this fall.

🔼 Tip Of The Cap. Last night at Chartway Arena was a special one for three members of the ODU family.

At its annual Jamboree Night, the Norfolk Sports Club recognized Jena Verga, Jeff Jones and JP Leigh for the contributions to the surrounding community.

Verga was honored as the Tom Fergusson Memorial Award Metropolitan Person of the Year in Sports. She is only the fifth woman to be accorded that honor since the sports club began the award in 1943.

Jones was the Lifetime Achievement Award winner, while Leigh received the Presidential Award.

November 18, 2023 will always be a special one for Ethan Sanchez
as the ODU kicker blasted a 22-yarder through the uprights as time expired to
give the Monarchs a dramatic 20-17 victory over Georgia Southern
and secure their second bowl bid in the past three years.

🏀 FOREVER A LEGEND

Pritchett is a member of the ODU Hall of Fame and the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame. He holds the school single-game scoring mark with 67 points during the 1968 season. He amassed 1,168 points in just two seasons with the Monarchs.
