🔼 Westward Bound. For a fourth straight season, the ODU football program is set to battle in-state rival Virginia Tech when it hits the road for a Saturday evening kickoff at Lane Stadium.

Boasting an electric rushing attack with Trequan Jones and Colton Joseph, the Monarchs are looking to pick up their second win over the Hokies in the past four years and third all-time.

Joseph has led the ODU offense and is currently the nation’s leading rusher for QBs with 228 yards and a 10.4 yards per carry average.

🔼 Rollin’ With Riley. Earlier this week, ODU women’s soccer’s Riley Mullen has been named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week.

The junior midfielder from Staten Island, N.Y. put on a shooting clinic over the Monarchs’ last two games. She scored the opening goal in ODU’s 2-1 victory over #20 Virginia Tech. Mullen followed the performance up by scoring both goals in ODU’s 2-1 victory over in-state rivals VCU.

🔼 History Maker. Now that’s how you start a season!

Sophomore standout Barbara Car of the ODU women’s golf program made history in the opening tournament of the fall.

Car closed out the Golfweek Fall Challenge with a program record six-under 65 to earn a top-five finish.

Car matched the program record for lowest round of 65, but at six-under par it marks a new record for score versus par for a single round. Jana Melichova held the previous record of five-under 65, which she set during the final round of the Evie Odom Invitational on Oct. 5, 2021 at Princess Anne Country Club.

On Wednesday night, former ODU standout Vinnie Pasquantino became the first former Monarch to reach 100 RBIs in a single MLB season with this RBI single in a 4-3 win over Cleveland.
