📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Tar Heel Takedown. Down 4-1 to #5 UNC on Friday night, the 20th-ranked ODU Field Hockey squad had them right where they wanted them.

The Monarchs reeled off three goals in the final 18 minutes of the game to send the game into overtime.

That’s when Serena Langendoen deposited a penalty stroke into the back of the cage to give ODU its first win over the Tar Heels since 2013.

It’s ODU’s first victory over a top-five opponent since a 2-1 win over #4 Virginia in 2021.

Sofia Marciano and Langendoen tied for a team-high two goals in the game, while Josie Painter had the other goal for the Monarchs.

Suurs Broers collected her fourth win in the season after recording seven saves in the victory.

🔼 Early And Often. Earning the program’s first nationally ranking since 2018, the 22nd-ranked ODU men’s soccer squad didn’t pull the foot off the gas.

Friday night, the Monarchs scored early and often to takedown UMBC, 5-1, at ODU Soccer Complex to improve to 6-0 on the season, the best start to a year since 2012.

The program record for consecutive victories to begin the season came in 2003-04 when the Monarchs won their first 14 games.

Lewis Rourke continued his hot start to the year with two more goals to push his season total to team-leading six.

🔼 Block Party. No better way to celebrate a home weekend sweep than with a block party, right?

That’s exactly what the ODU Volleyball squad did over the weekend, picking up victories over Navy (3-0) and UMES (3-1) over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Monarchs did so in record-setting fashion, tallying the most blocks in a single match in program history with 17.

Leilani Lawrence and Elisa Maggi led the way offensively with 32 and 21 kills, respectively, while Wiktoria Zagumny dished out 84 assists on the weekend.
