🔼 Point Taken. The ODU women’s soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to five on Sunday night in Conway, S.C. as the Monarchs battle their way to a scoreless tie with Coastal Carolina.

It was yet another dominant defensive performance for ODU, who limited the Chanticleers to just one shot on the night and only two corners.

Through the first three Sun Belt games, the Monarchs are the only East team without a loss and sit up the East Division currently.

🔼 Grand Opening. A road shutout to start conference play? Yup, we’ll take that!

The ODU field hockey team put together a stifling defensive effort en route to a 2-0 victory over Providence on Friday afternoon.

Sanci Molkenboer found the back of the cage in the first minute of the game, followed by a second quarter goal from Amelie Zielcke.

Leave the rest up to Suus Broers and the ODU defense, who limited to seven shots in the contest.

🔼 Sunday Funday. Tied at 13-13 in the fifth set, Kyra Hampton and Elisa Maggi scored back-to-back kills as Old Dominion volleyball completed a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over NC State on Sunday afternoon at the Siegel Center in Richmond.

Three Monarchs finished with double-digit kills: Katie Rakoski and Bryanna Jones had 18 apiece to lead the way, and Maggi was close behind them with 14. Hampton set a new career high with 42 assists and added 16 digs for her first career double-double.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: The win marks the third over a Power 4 opponent in program history. ODU defeated West Virginia 3-0 on Sept. 14, 2023 in the first match of the Mountaineer Invitational. The Monarchs also beat Rutgers 3-0 on Sept. 19 last year to open the Old Dominion Invitational.

🦁 Have a great start to your week, y’all!
