🔼 Settin’ The Clocks. With just over 30 days away from tipoff, the ODU basketball programs unveiled tip-off times for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
🔼 Mighty Mac. For the first time since 2021, an ODU men’s golf standout claimed the top spot at a tournament as Joe MacPherson earned co-medalist honors to lead the Monarchs to a third place finish at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina at Ironwood Golf & Country Club.
A third year from Aberlady, Scotland, MacPherson opened the tournament with a three-under par 69 in Monday’s first round. He made five putts for birdie, including three on the front nine, and also made an eagle on the par-4 12th hole. He followed that effort with a six-under 66 for his second lap around the course, converting seven birdies and only logging one bogey.
He is the first Monarch to win a tournament since alumni Jakob Henriksson finished first at William & Mary’s Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate on March 29-30, 2021. This marks MacPherson’s first career Top-5 performance.
🔼 O Captain, My Captain. Fourth-year standout and team captain Ashlynn Kulha helped the ODU women’s soccer team flex their defensive muscles in the opening weekend of Sun Belt play.
Kulha and the Monarchs picked up a pair of shutouts to open conference play. For her efforts, Kulha was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week.
This is the fifth time in the fourth year defender's collegiate career that she has been named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week.
🔼 Super Serena. ODU field hockey star Serena Langendoen earned her second BIG EAST honor of the season, as she was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week.
Langendoen scored twice in ODU’s 5-1 win on Sunday over St. Louis, knotting the score at one in the first quarter and later adding an insurance goal. She was also part of a defensive effort that held the Billikens to four shots.
That defensive effort stayed the following day, as the Monarchs defeated William & Mary, 2-0 in Williamsburg. Langendoen gave ODU a 1-0 lead late in the first frame.
