🏈 COUNTIN’ DOWN: 1️⃣ DAYS TIL KICKOFF

We love seeing local products turning into foundational pieces for the Monarchs.
That’s exactly Zion Frink has done as the Chesapeake native emerged as a starter for ODU’s defensive unit last fall and looks to take an even bigger step this fall after earning Preseason All-Sun Belt accolades.
Last fall, Frink made the move from safety to cornerback, starting all 13 games for ODU while racking up 60 tackles, six pass breakups and his first collegiate interception.

🔼 Tomorrow, Tomorrow. Tomorrow’s the day we’ve all been waiting for!
ODU Football finally returns as it kicks off the 2026 season with a local showdown as Norfolk State rolls into Ballard Stadium for a 6 p.m. showdown.
The Monarchs will look to continue the momentum from last year after posting 10 wins and securing the second bowl game victory in program history.
While ODU returns plenty of talent, there will also be many new faces to check out for Monarchs fans with 54 newcomers on this fall’s roster.
🔼 En Fuego. It’d be tough to find a hotter team in the country than the ODU men’s soccer squad.
Using a quick start, the Monarchs rolled past Radford, 7-1, on Wednesday night at ODU Soccer Complex to move to 4-0 for the first time in 14 years.
With 17 goals in the first four games of the year, ODU now ranks as the second-highest scoring offense in the country.
🔼 Turtle Takedown. After battling back-to-back nationally-ranked opponents, the ODU women’s soccer team responded in a big way on Thursday night, rolling to a 2-0 road win at Maryland.
Hannah Morgan and Madison Telmer each scored goals for the Monarchs, while Emily Earles secured her first shutout of the season for ODU.
Morgan scored her third goal of the season and Telmer netted her second. McEntarfer, Lutz, and Mullen all provided an assist. Ashlynn Kulha, McEntarfer, and Telmer each logged 90 minutes on the pitch.

🔼 Hunt For October. With only a few weeks remaining in the 2026 MLB season, former Monarch Ryan Yarbrough finds himself right in the middle of the hunt for October.
The southpaw reliever has been a versatile piece out of the bullpen for the New York Yankees, who nearly 10 games up in the Wild Card race and only 3.5 games back in the American League East Division.
Yarbrough has allowed earned runs in just three of his past 10 appearances (17.1 IP of work). On the year, he has appeared in 32 games for the Yanks with a 3.91 ERA and three saves on his resume.
