🔼 Off To The Races. Running back Trequan Jones set a school record with a 93-yard touchdown run, quarterback Colton Joseph was in midseason form and the defense was outstanding as Old Dominion rolled past North Carolina Central, 54-6, Saturday night in its football home opener.

Joseph completed 19-of-24 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns and added 52 yards on 11 rushes and a touchdown before heading for the bench late in the third quarter.

Jones, a 5-foot-9, 183-pound junior who played the last two seasons at Georgia Military College, finished with five carries for 163 yards and three touchdowns.

It was the most lopsided victory ever as a head coach for ODU's Ricky Rahne, who in his fifth season with the Monarchs. 

🔼 Rollin’ On The River. After taking down 20th-ranked Virginia Tech on Thursday night, the ODU women’s soccer team capped off its STATEment weekend by rolling to a 2-1 victory in the River City over VCU.

Riley Mullen had another big night with her first career brace and now scored three goals in the past two games for the Monarchs.

🔼 On The Board. Playing a loaded early season schedule, the ODU volleyball team battled to their first victory of the year on Saturday, grinding out a 3-2 thriller at UMBC.

Elisa Maggi led the Monarchs in kills with 20 and came in second with 11 digs as Kate Kilpatrick led the team with 12. LeeAnne Lowery led defensively with five blocks, while Wiktoria Zagumny had a team-high 46 assists.
