🔼 Risin’ Up. After a dominant start to their 2026 campaign, the ODU men’s soccer squad finds itself in the Top-25 for the first time in eight years, sitting at #22 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches poll.
Under third-year head coach Tennant McVea, the Silver and Blue have gotten off to a 5-0 start, outscoring their opponents, 20-5 and have scored 5+ goals on two occasions.
Old Dominion’s +15-goal differential is ranked best in Division I, while the Monarchs’ 20 goals rank second in the national leaderboard.
🔼 Poll Position. After a 3-1 start to the season, the ODU field hockey program is back in the top-25 for the second straight week, sitting at #20 nationally.
This weekend will be a second matchup with a top-five opponent in the past three games when they travel back to Chapel Hill to battle #5 UNC on Friday at 5 p.m.
🔼 Roaring Rourke. Fourth-year forward Lewis Rourke is making some noise this fall for the ODU men’s soccer team.
After scoring two goals and tallying two assists in the Monarchs’ two victories last week, Rourke was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week.
The Nottingham, England native has now tallied 11 points through the first give games with four goals and three assists to help lead a potent ODU offensive attack.
🔼 Eyes On The Prize. After a strong showing against Norfolk State in last weekend’s season-opener, ODU Football heads west to battle another in-state foe, Virginia Tech, on Saturday at 12 p.m.
ODU has beaten the Hokies three times since the series began in 2017, including a memorable 45-26 victory in Blacksburg last season. The Monarchs enter Saturday riding a seven-game winning streak dating back to last year and will look to once again lean on Quinn Henicle's dual-threat ability and a defense that made several momentum-changing plays in the opener.
