🏈 BOWL DAY IS HERE!

It’s finally here!

After the thrilling end to the 2023 regular season and a second bowl berth in three seasons, the ODU football squad will close out this chapter at TODAY’s Famous Toastery Bowl in Charlotte, N.C.

The matchup is a familiar one for the Monarchs as they take on Western Kentucky, a program that ODU has played seven times previously as a former Conference USA opponent.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm on ESPN at Jerry Richardson Stadium on the campus of UNC Charlotte.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Bigger Than Football. One of the most special parts about each season, no matter which sport, is the emergence of different athletes and learning their stories.

It was a big fall for Wayne Matthews and his story is even more inspiring.

Our old partner, Max with Minium, took a deeper look into a story that is way bigger than the football field.

🔼 Bounce Back. For three quarters on Sunday, two top-tier women’s basketball teams in the Commonwealth of Virginia battled it out on the court in Richmond.

Unfortunately for the Monarchs, it was the other quarter that proved to be the difference as ODU dropped its first contest of the season to VCU, 64-50, on Sunday.

The Rams used a big second quarter to grab a lead and held on in the second half for the victory.

En'Dya Buford paced the Monarchs with 15 points, three rebounds, one assist and three steals.

🔼 Holiday Travelers. While millions of Americans will hit the airways and interstates to travel this holiday season, not many will travel more further than the ODU men’s basketball team.

Than again, not many will see the sights that the Monarchs will see this week.

ODU returns to action after a 12-day layoff at the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii… not a bad place to spend a week in December we’d say.

The Monarchs kick off things against Big 12 foe TCU on Thursday and will play games on Friday and Sunday as well against competition to be determined.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

There’s no questioning the road that the Monarchs traveled to reach their third-ever bowl game.

ODU played the third-most bowl teams of any schedule in the entire country.

Out of the 12 regular season opponents on the Monarchs’ schedule, how many teams earned bowl bids this fall?
