🔼 A Perfect 10. It takes a ten to know a ten.

ODU’s red-hot field hockey team continued its winning ways on Friday, earning a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory at UCONN marking the program’s first victory over the Huskies in 10 years.

Senior Rina Tsioles scored the game-winner just three minutes into OT to give the Monarchs the victory.

Junior Frederique Zandbergen and senior Marlon de Bruijne also scored as ODU improved to 12-5 on the year and will enter this weekend’s BIG EAST Tournament as the #2 seed.

🔼 Toe-To-Toe. Nationally-ranked opponent. Sold out crowd. Rivalry game.

The ODU football team showed the nation exactly what they’re about, going toe-to-toe with the 25th-ranked Dukes of JMU, but coming up just short, 30-27 on Saturday night.

Junior QB Grant Wilson tossed for 277 yards and two TDs, while the Monarchs rushed for nearly 150 yards (138 to be exact), the most the Dukes had given up all year.

🔼 Sneak Peek. ODU fans got their first sneak peek of the the 2023-24 ODU women’s hoops squad.

The Monarchs took the court for the first time as a unit, toppling visiting Christopher Newport, 65-48, in exhibition action.

Junior Simone Cunningham finished with a 12-point, 17-rebound double-double, while senior En’Dya Buford led the way offensively with 14 points in the contest.

"It was a great opportunity for us to truly evaluate where we are as a team," said head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. “With 10 new faces added to our roster, we are fighting daily for cohesiveness and familiarity in our play."
