🔼 Our Cousin Vinnie. Ok, maybe he’s not our cousin, but he’s definitely family.

Do yourself a favor and check out the RBI leaders in all of Major League Baseball.

You recognize a name near the top of that list? That’s right, ODU’s own Vinnie Pasquantino.

In the past two weeks, the former Monarch standout has racked up seven HRs and 20 RBIs to currently sit tied for fourth in ALL of MLB with 92 RBIs.

🔼 Stopped On Sunday. One early goal and one late goal proved to be the difference as a young ODU women’s soccer squad dropped a tough, physical match at Liberty on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.

“A tough game for us today. Liberty is physical, direct and that caused us a lot of problems. We had moments in the game but needed to show a little more composure and quality on the ball. That’ll be something for us to work on for Thursday night with William & Mary,” said Associate Head Coach Michelle Barr.

🔼 Raising The Bar. Only in its fifth season, the ODU volleyball program continues to raise the bar each year.

Last fall, the Lady Monarchs piled up 14 wins, the most-ever in a single-season. Their sights are set higher this year as they enter 2024 with one of the Sun Belt’s premier players.

ODU’s Myah Conway earned Preseason All-Conference accolades this past week, while the Monarchs were picked fourth in the league’s East Division in the Sun Belt preseason poll.

Conway, a native of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, is entering her senior season at ODU. Last season saw her earn All-Sun Belt First Team honors for the second year in a row after she led the Monarchs with 518.5 points and 451 kills and was second on the team with 93 blocks. She finished the 2023 regular season as the Sun Belt leader in both points (504) and kills (439).

As we mentioned earlier, senior Myah Conway of the ODU volleyball program earned Preseason All-Sun Belt accolades last week.

Last season, she became the first Monarch in program history to eclipse 1,000 career kills. How many kills does she have entering her final season in Norfolk?
