⏱ Countdown to Kickoff: The Big 4-0!
⭐ And much, much more!
🇺🇸 OUI OUI!
Her first Olympics was delayed a year. Now, she’s back for more.
Former All-American Stephanie Roble is headed back to the Olympics as she secured a bid with Team USA and will compete in the sailing event over the next few weeks in Paris.
Back in 2021, Roble was inducted into the ODU Athletics Hall of Fame after a career which featured three ICSA All-American accolades, a team MVP, and served as a team captain for a program that reached a third-place finish at the 2010 National Championships.
🇳🇦 COUNTRY PRIDE
There’s no breaking this summer for two of ODU’s own.
All-Americans Codie and Connor van Schalkwyk have been quite busy on the court and last week, the duo helped their home country of Nambia to a victory in the Davis Cup World Group 3 pool.
With the win, the duo helps Nambia advance to the World Group 2 playoffs in 2025 with eyes on the prize of earning a Davis Cup berth. Nambia has never earned a berth to the Davis Cup final stages.
🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 40 DAYS
Number of the Day: 40(7)
Ok, ok, we bent the rules a little bit, but the date was September 25, 2010
and the Monarchs were battling Monmouth on the road.
The arm of Thomas DeMarco was slinging that day as it marked the first time in program history that a QB had thrown for 400+ yards.
The future ODU Hall of Famer finished 28-of-47 with 407 yards and four passing TDs in a thrilling 35-21 road victory.
Some guy named Heinicke would eventual come along and throw for over 400+ yards a few more times in years to come.
