Jason Henderson (center), 2-time FWAA All-America LB at @ODUFootball and FBS’ top returning tackler (14.2 pg), offers the other side of the transfer portal. “If I’m comfortable where I’m at, why explore options? The risk isn’t worth the reward. I’d rather finish what I started.”

🏈 AWARDS APLENTY
You know preseason camps are right around the corner when the all-conference teams start rolling out!
Two of ODU’s own were featured on this year’s SBC Preseason All-Conference squads with Jason Henderson (first team) and Denzel Lowry (second team) earning recognition.
In addition to his first team honor, Henderson was named the SBC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year yet again.
The Dingmans Ferry, Pa. native led the country for the second-straight year in tackles per game, averaging 14.2 stops and finished third in the country with 1.6 tackles for loss per game. He finished second in the country with 170 tackles, one behind Jay Higgins of Iowa, who played two more games than Henderson.
Lowry started all 13 games last season at defensive tackle and led ODU defensive linemen with 46 tackles, and four sacks. He also notched 5.5 tackles for loss. He tied his career-high in the come-from-behind win over Georgia State with six tackles.
🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 38 DAYS
Number of the Day: 38.
That’s the number of TDs that the Monarchs scored last fall and
they plan to have plenty more this season at Ballard Stadium.
No bigger TD than this scamper from Grant Wilson that lifted ODU
to a bowl berth for the second time in the past three years.
