🔼 Brooms Please! That’s not a bad way to start the final season at the Bud.

A quartet of juniors and timely pitching led the ODU baseball squad to a season opening series sweep of George Washington with victories of 4-1, 7-4 and 8-2 notched by the Monarchs.

Kyle Edwards, Luke Walters, Steven Meier, Maverick Stallings combined for 17 hits, 12 runs and nine RBIs to pace the offensive attack.

On the hill, ODU starters John Holobetz, Trent Buchanan and Dylan Brown combined to allow just three earned runs in 14 innings of work, while allowing nine hits and recording 13 strikeouts.

🔼 Double Dippin’. The train kept on rolling along!

What a weekend for the ODU men’s tennis team as it began with an absolute thriller in a 4-3 win over rival VCU and capped it off with a Sunday sweep of Penn State as the Monarchs improved to 9-1 on the season.

🔼 Back To Work. Sometimes, you just have to keep grinding.

For the ODU hoops squads, that what they’ll do this week as the Monarchs dropped a doubleheader at Chartway Arena on Saturday with two tough Sun Belt contests.

The women’s squad battled conference leading Marshall to the wire, but fell, 89-75 to the Thundering Herd, who have only one loss in conference play. The nightcap featured a back-and-forth battle for the men’s team, who continue to battle adversity, but fell to Georgia State, 68-65.
