🔼 Senior Salute. Emotions ran high and so did the ODU offense as the men’s hoops squad ended their 2023-24 home slate in BIG TIME fashion.

A career-night from senior transfer Tyrone Williams led the Monarchs to a 75-59 victory over Coastal Carolina in front of a raucous Chartway Arena crowd.

On a night that saw Jeff Jones return to Chartway to honor the seniors, it was Williams who took the spotlight, pouring in 33 points on the evening.

The loudest cheer of the night came for Jason Wade as the beloved senior was honored pregame after overcoming a serious knee injury, a torn Achilles and a bout with depression, but returned to the court for the past two seasons.

🔼 HOTLanta. The ODU women’s hoops squad lived up to the city it was visiting this weekend.

En’Dya Buford’s career night led the Lady Monarchs to a decisive 67-51 road win at Georgia State in Atlanta this weekend. The win moves ODU to 20-7 on the year, marking the first stretch of three consecutive 20-win seasons in over 15 years.

Buford did it all for ODU, scoring a career-best 25 points, including three 3-pointers, while also grabbing a nine rebounds, dishing out three assists and picking up three steals.

Simone Cunningham nearly had another double-double with eight points and 10 boards, while Jordan McLaughlin was the other Monarch in double-figures with 12 points in the victory.

Entering the final two games of the regular season, one more win clinches a top-four seed and a double bye for ODU in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
