Fresh off a sweep of the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the ODU tennis squad learned their NCAA Tournament fates on Monday night.

It’ll be a ODU takeover in Raleigh as both the men’s and women’s teams are headed to NC State to participate in the opening rounds of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

AND both teams drew the same opponent, South Carolina.

The men’s team is set to take the courts on Friday afternoon at 1, while the women will open up play on Saturday at 11 am.

🔼 From The Pride To The Flock. It may had been only one season, but Nolan Johnson made quite an impact on the ODU defense.

Johnson, who came to Norfolk after his time at Miami (Ohio), played in all 11 games for the Monarchs, racking up 37 tackles, grabbing one INT and tallying six pass breakups in the ODU defensive backfield.

Now, the High Point, N.C. native is leading the Pride and headed to the Flock.

Johnson earned a minicamp invite with the Baltimore Ravens and will head to join the reigning AFC North Champions this spring.

🤔 MONARCH TRIVIA

On Tuesday, junior Sofia Johnson of the ODU women’s tennis team earned a spot in the NCAA Singles Tennis Championships in late May.

Johnson earned the automatic qualifying bid after being named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year with a 12-4 record at the #1 spot this spring.
