👏 THANK YOU, COACH

What a run.

This week marked the end of a legendary career as ODU men’s basketball coach Jeff Jones announced his retirement on Monday afternoon.

He finished his 32-year head coaching career with 560 wins, eight NCAA Tournament appearances, including reaching the Elite Eight, a dozen 20-win seasons, and an NIT Championship.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Bye, Bye, Bye. Ok, the third bye isn’t necessary, but you get it.

The ODU women’s team battled their way to a 61-54 home victory over Georgia Southern on Tuesday night to clinch a double bye into the Sun Belt Quarterfinals and a top-four seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week En’Dya Buford kept her hot streak going with a game-high 20 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out five assists. Jordan McLaughlin was the other Monarch in double-figures with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

🔼 Walk The Plank. My, my, my how the tables have turned - Steven Meier (Michael Scott).

Normally, the Pirates are the one making the opposition walk the plank. On Tuesday at the Bud, the ODU baseball flipped the tables on 11th-ranked East Carolina delivering a thrilling 6-5 walk-off win for the home crowd.

Junior Steven Meier launched his second HR of the night over the left field wall to set off jubilation and earning the Monarchs their first ranked win of the 2024 season.

🔼 Finishing Strong. With a few weeks left of her collegiate career, En’Dya Buford is making sure she finishes strong.

After a strong week this past week and helping the Monarchs to wins over Appalachian State and Georgia State, the Memphis, Tenn. native was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.

The honor is the first of Buford’s career.

🔼 Come Sail Away. And the sails are up!

ODU’s women’s sailing team opened its spring slate this past weekend with a strong showing in South Florida. The Monarchs placed third out of seven teams at the USF Women’s Team Race.

Elizabeth Gildea, Megan Gieth and Gianna Dewey represented one boat for the Monarchs and the second boat featured Cadence Goodnight, Lindsey Kaufmann and Allison Volk

The Dueling Pianos is back at Apex Entertainment in Virginia Beach! This show will take place on Friday, March 1st and tickets are still available! Enjoy three hours of music, fun and food!
