We’ll bring you all the sights, sounds and storylines from our fall sports as they prepare for what surely will be an exciting 2023 season.

🔼 Back… In… Action. The sweat dripping. The water flowing. The whistles blowing.

The Monarchs are officially back in action folks!

Today, kicks off ODU football training camp, while the women’s soccer team got underway yesterday in Norfolk.

Later this week, the volleyball, field hockey and men’s soccer teams get underway as they prepare for their 2023 campaigns.

🔼 Let’s Make It Three. New setting. Same results.

Former women’s tennis standout Yuliia Starodubtseva continues to flex her muscles on the pro circuit, taking home her third International Tennis Federation (ITF) event title this past weekend in Dallas.

With the win, Starodubtseva earns a spot in the qualifying rounds of the upcoming U.S. Open Championships in September.

In the spring, Starodubtseva won a 25k event in Texas and earlier this summer won her first 60k event in Sumpter, South Carolina.

🔼 Mama, there goes that man again. We told you! We told you! Would we lie to you?

We just wanted to bring you some video evidence of what Tre Hawkins III is doing at training camp.

As NFL camps got underway in the past week, Hawkins is turning heads with a hot start to training camp with the Giants.

With several picks and showing off his speed and versatility, McBride is quickly becoming a fan favorite in East Rutherford.

🔼 Helping Hands. Project Nighthawk is a local community effort that provides a free nighttime recreation and entertainment for young adults.

With DJs, vendors, food and much more, it’s a great project that is bringing the community together.

🔼 Might Need Some Nametags. As the men’s soccer squad hits the fields later this week, there’s going to be some name tags that might be needed as ODU will welcome 14 new players for the upcoming 2023 season.

"We feel like we have addressed a lot of positions of need with this recruiting class," said Dawson. "We have added competition for playing time all over the field as this will be one of our deepest squads in recent years. We have added size, speed, playmaking ability, and maturity to a sound foundation of returners. We are very excited to piece the squad together and get back on the pitch to compete."

This class has a mix of graduate transfers, freshmen and international standouts as the Monarchs approach year two in the Sun Belt Conference.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 31 DAYS

With 31 TDs in 2010, Thomas DeMarco became the first Monarch to post back-to-back seasons of being responsible for 30+ TDs.

In 2009, DeMarco was a part of 38 TDs for ODU, followed by his 31 in 2010.

Since that time, only Taylor Heinicke has posted multiple seasons of being a part of 30+ TDs.

David Washington is the only other Monarch with a season of 30+ or more TDs responsible for (32 in 2016).
