These Monarchs are getting after this summer and ready for a BIG 2024-25 season ahead.

🔼 Lock It In. We’ve known the opponents. We’ve known the dates. Now, we’ve got the kickoff times.

You can start the countdown clocks now as four of ODU’s games have official kickoff times.

The Monarchs will open the 2024 season at South Carolina on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 4:15 p.m. on the SEC Network, ESPN announced late last week. The Worldwide Leader also announced game times for ODU’s first two home games against ECU and Virginia Tech, both at 6 p.m., and the Thursday night contest against Georgia Southern, which will kick off at 7 p.m. 

ODU will make its debut on the SEC Network to open the season at South Carolina before returning home to host ECU on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Virginia Tech on Saturday, Sept. 14. Both games will begin at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

The Thursday night game against Georgia Southern on October 24 will kick at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

All other remaining kickoff times will be announced by the Sun Belt and ESPN on Mondays, 12 days prior to each game.

That’s exactly what former ODU Monarch Jakob Chicoyne did this past weekend, earning a qualifying spot with his dad working caddy for him.

Chicoyne fired a 75 and 76 in his first two PGA TOUR rounds and got a weekend he’ll remember forever.

Last week, five all-time ODU greats got one of those calls as the 2024 Class of the ODU Sports Hall of Fame was announced.

This year’s class includes Trey Freeman (Men’s Basketball), Christy Longacre (Field Hockey), Jonathan Plisco (Football), Evan Newton (Men’s Soccer) and Marty Bradley (Athletic Training).

The group will be inducted at a dinner at Chartway Arena in early September.
