That’s exactly what the ODU hoops squad will be looking to do as they both look to bounce back as they hit the courts tomorrow in Sun Belt Conference action.

🔼 Stay Together. There’s just something different when it comes to conference play. Games are more intense. Records can be thrown out the door.

Thursday night at Chartway Arena, it was a classic conference back-and-forth showdown with the ODU women’s team taking on Louisiana, and the Cajuns made just enough plays down the stretch to come away with the 66-61 victory.

Jordan McLaughlin led with a team-high 22 points, while also adding four rebounds and three assists for the Monarchs.

🔼 Bump In The Road. Adversity can build character if one allows it to happen.

For the ODU men’s basketball, adversity would be putting it lightly when it comes to the 2023-24 season. The Monarchs have had plenty to face and it piled up even more on Thursday night without its top two scorers and facing a tough road test at Troy.

ODU battled until the final whistle, but dropped a tough 86-73 decision to the Trojans.

Devin Ceasar (23 pts) and Tyrone Williams (22 pts) both had career-best nights for the Monarchs.

🔼 Dance Partners. As we kick off 2024, we’ve got some dance partners for next fall.

ODU learned its Sun Belt West Division opponents this week as the Monarchs will host Texas State and travel to Arkansas State for the 2024 season.

The Monarchs will host Marshall, James Madison and Georgia Southern and will travel to App State, Coastal Carolina and Georgia State from the Sun Belt East.
 
The full 2024 schedule will be announced by early March.
