TGIF Monarchs. After several weeks of scorching temperatures, even Mother Nature knows, it’s football season.

We’ve got your calendar filled with cooler temperatures and plenty of home games so don’t plan on being anywhere else but right here in Norfolk!

Throw the meat in the marinade, put the drinks in the cooler and head on over to cheer on the Blue & White twice tonight and pull out the tailgates tomorrow!

There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.

We are just over 24 HOURS AWAY from ODU Football’s home opener against Louisiana.

Junior QB Grant Wilson tossed two TDs in his Monarch debut this past weekend and can’t wait to get in front of the home fans on Saturday night. Classmate Jason Henderson is now just 25 tackles away from becoming the just the fourth ODU player all-time to reach 300+ career tackles.

The Monarchs are 54-30 all-time in S.B. Ballard Stadium, good for a .643 winning percentage.

Let’s help them make it 55!

🔼 The Dream Continues. Every little kid playing Pop Warner dreams of playing on Sundays.

This week, six former Monarchs will kick off another year of chasing their dreams as part of active NFL rosters during the opening week of the 2023 season.

Zach Pascal (Cardinals), Taylor Heinicke (Falcons), Stone Smartt (Chargers), Nick Saldiveri (Saints), Tre Hawkins III (Giants) and Rick Lovato (Eagles) all earned a spot on the active rosters of their organizations.

Three other alums are part of practice squads, Marcus Haynes (Broncos), Oshane Ximines (Giants) and Zach Kuntz (Jets), and could be called up on Sundays throughout the season.

🔼 Oui Oui. We’re three weeks away from the start of the ODU men’s tennis squad opening up the fall slate, so that gives us some time to get to chat with a few of our Monarchs.

Baguettes? Crepes? French accents? You’ll hear about them all straight from the guys.
